TIMEPERIOD: Q I LANGUAGE:English/Swedish EXAMINER Per Arve Univ lekt PREREQUISITES Quantum Physics MTF067, Electromagnetic Field Theory MTF056 and Solid State Physics MTF064. COURSE AIM The course aims for a basic ability to understand and calculate all types of quantal systemes and processes with a limited number of freedoms. CONTENTS Vibrations in composite systems. Matrixrepresentation of operators. Variational calculations of eigenvalues and eigenstates for the Hamilton operator. Correlations (coupling) between different freedoms. Scattering theory. Phonons. Photons in an elementary quantization of the electromagnetic field. Decay and emission in time dependent perturbation theory and strength functions. TEACHING Lectures.
