COURSE AIM
The aim of the course is to give intensified knowledge of modelling and presentation techniques with regard to product development.

CONTENTS
Introduction (3%). Description of developmental work where 2D- and 3D- visualisation may be of crucial importance for the final results.
Different types of product development (3%). Presentation of different types of product development and 2D-and 3D- visualisation that can be used during the development.
Models incl. techniques (28%). Building of models in carton and foam. Presentation of techniques and materials.
Functional models (11%). Description of different types of functional models as well as so called mock-ups.
Professions incl. organisation (5%). Description of professionals within the field and how these special services can be employed in product development.
Presentation techniques (11%). Presentation techniques used in connection with product development; advices, techniques, and means.
Visualisation 2D and 3D (11%). Different types of sketches, models, and CAD as a means for presentation of a design.
Rough sketching, rendering (5%). Presentation of different design sketches.
Models for visualisation (5%). Presentation of different design models.
Colours and colouring (11%). Colours and colouring, modelling.
Graphic design (7%). Graphic design and product graphics.


TEACHING
Lectures, laborations and exercises. Lectures and laboratory work are mandatory. Produktdesignconsult AB, Luleå, is responsible for the lecturing.

EXAMINATION
The course will be graded on presence and active participation. 
COURSE GRADE SCALE: Fail, Pass
