TIMEPERIOD: LANGUAGE:English EXAMINER Dennis Pettersson Prof PREREQUISITES Possess a bachelor's degree in science or 120 university points in the field of science or equivalent and have a good knowledge in English. COURSE AIM Module 1: The course is very practical and deals with product development from ergonomics standpoints and by using ergonomics principles. Module 2: The course shall give basic methodological knowledge of workplace analysis and workplace design. The students should learn how to design work and workplaces that combine a good work environment together with efficient productivity using the basic ergonomic principles. The course will take into account human needs and conditions in terms of gender, age, disability, ethnic, cultural and social background. CONTENTS Module 1: Product design. Basic ergonomics design parameters; Design methods; Applied design ergonomics; Design communication; Modeling technique, Experimental models. Module 2: Workplace design. Work place design. Methods for the design of workplaces with respect to anthropometric data, criteria for working postures and physical environment. Modeling. How models can be used in workplace design, as idea models, planning models, functional models, and prototypes. Training in model construction. TEACHING Lectures and compulsory laboratory experiments. EXAMINATION Module 1: Laboratory experiment, written report Module 2: Written report
