ARE047 Project Planning, Management and Evaluation 4.5 ECTS credits | |
TIMEPERIOD: LANGUAGE:English EXAMINER Frants Staugård Prof PREREQUISITES Possess a bachelor's degree in science or 120 university points in the field of science or equivalent and have a good knowledge in English. COURSE AIM All participants are familiar with the basic concepts of the Logical Framework Approach (LFA -logframe), the project cycle and the gender analysis framework and have completet the development of a model project matrix for the detailed planning of their own research- and development project. All participants are familiar with the theory and practice of project management, the concepts of monitoring, review and evaluation, have acquired relevant and sufficient knowledge and skills in the field of planning and implementation of a comprehensive project evaluation. CONTENTS Basic problem assessment and problem analysis. Goals and purposes of the project. Target groups/beneficiaries for the project. Proposed project activities. Responsible institutions/project managers for the proposed activities. The necessary resources for implementation of the project (funds, staff, equipment and supplies). The project cycle and its management. Monitoring, review and evaluation of projects. Theory and practice of project management. Understanding the concepts of monitoring, review and evaluation. Planning and implementing an evaluation. TEACHING Participants will be divided into small groups, each with five members, and the group members will cooperate throughout the workshop with the purpose of developing a project matrix. The working groups will follow the LFA-process step by step-or evidently in their own pace, depending on previous experience with this planning concept, inceasingly used internationally within a wide range of sectors. Following the development of a comprehensive project plan in accordance with the LFA-concept, participants will be taught about the concepts of project management, monitoring, review and evaluation and will participate in interactive sessions and learning-by-doing sessions, focusing on relevant subjects and concepts in the field of project planning, implementation and evaluation.
