ARE045 Ergonomics of Team-Working 1.5 ECTS credits | |
TIMEPERIOD: LANGUAGE:English EXAMINER Jonathan Stubbs 1 fo ing PREREQUISITES Possess a bachelor's degree in science or 120 university points in the field of science or equivalent and have a good knowledge in English. COURSE AIM Course participants will be provided with information about group processes, attitudes, and social influence. Potential applications of course material will be discussed. CONTENTS Material on attribution theory, the link between attitudes and behavior, persuasion through own actions (role playing, cognitive dissonance, and other routes to self-persuasion), why people conform, majority influence, minority influence, making requests, the norm of reciprocity, sequential request strategies, obedience, social impact theory, social facilitation, social loafing Deindividuation, group processes, groupthink, group performance, cooperation, competition, and conflict will be presented. TEACHING Lectures, videos, exercises will be the primary pedagogic tools used in the course. EXAMINATION In small groups students will prepare group guidelines for ergonomic students. Each student will prepare a paper on how to apply knowledge gained from the course in his or her home country.
