PREREQUISITES
General eligibility with at least 3 from a 3 year upper secondary school course programme.


COURSE AIM
The aim of the course is:
- to improve the general English language proficiency of the students, preparing them for situations they will meet in their future careers.


CONTENTS
Grammar (25%). Grammar lessons with practice exercises.
Reading (25%). Discussions about chosen texts. Dictionary exercises to build up vocabulary. Pronunciation exercises.
Writing (25%). Translation exercises, summaries of longer scientific texts, report writing, descriptions and essay writing.
Speech (25%). Oral skills and presentations.


TEACHING
Lectures, classes and exercises.


EXAMINATION
Written examinations in grammar and vocabulary. The speech and writing classes are compulsory and an active participation is expected. The course will be graded as above.
