TIMEPERIOD: Q1 LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Nils Erik Lindell Univ adj PREREQUISITES Applicants must have completed the courses KSP046 and PÄP044. COURSE AIM The aims of the course are that students: - get a general view of the development of our world and the societies that man has formed on basis of available material and spiritual resources - gain understanding of natural resources, of the connection between natural resources and activities such as industrialisation and urbanisation, and of how our actions effect the environment - develop ability to problemize the relation between economic growth and a sustainable ecological balance - acquire knowledge of didactics and skills connected to the subject matter - acquire knowledge of the concept and implementation of camp schools - prepare a memorandum for the degree project CONTENTS ITEM 1 and 2 The geological processes that shape and change the landscape. The main features of the climatic and vegetation zones of the world. Swedish trade and industry from a geographic perspective. Political ideologies. Swedish political and economic systems. The industrialisation and the environment - growth and ecology. Man's relationship to nature from a historical perspective. Mass media, current political issues/current public discussions on politics. A selection of books for children, young people and adults. ITEM 3 Methodology and didactics for camp schools. ITEM 4 Degree project and preparation of a memorandum. TEACHING Lectures, lessons, seminars, study visits and excursions. The teaching will be characterised by activating, group-based, problem-based and interdisciplinary work procedures. The students will keep a study journal and a "portfolio". EXAMINATION Written and oral examination, individually and in groups. COURSE GRADE SCALE: Fail, Pass. ITEMS/CREDITS | |
