IEM008 Marketing or equivalent.

COURSE AIM
Overall, the course will provide students with:
- A history of the Internet and how it has evolved into an international marketing tool.
- The evolution of e-commerce/e-business applications in both industrial and consumer markets.
- Knowledge on the use of Internet tools such as Web sites and e-mail.
- Knowledge on how to develop and maintain a business Web site.
- Knowledge on how to market the Web site (i.e Web-based marketing plans).
- Skills regarding management of real-world and e-commerce business applications.
- Opportunities to connect with actual companies on a project basis.
- A background on the social issues facing on-line marketing (laws, ethics, etc).

CONTENTS


TEACHING
The course is taught through a series of formal lectures with discussions of the literature and the use of practical examples during the lectures. It is planned for the course to have its own interactive homepage.

EXAMINATION
A combination of written exams, individual assignments, as well as group projects will be given throughout the course.
COURSE GRADE SCALE: U, 3, 4, 5
