TIMEPERIOD: LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Lennart Karlberg Univ lekt PREREQUISITES COURSE AIM The course is intended to give an introduction to some fields of mathematics that are important for applications. CONTENTS Calculus: Real numbers, functions, limits, continuity, the derivative, the mean-value theorem, optimization problems, integration, applications of integration, complex numbers, differential equations. Algebra and combinatorics: Set theory, logic, mathematical induction, number theory, functions, relations, permutations, combinations. Linear algebra: Systems of linear equations, matrix algebra, linear transformations, linear independence,determinants, vector spaces, eigenvalues, eigenvectors.
