The course requires knowledge acquired in SMD044 Imperative Programming and a Project course or SMD056 Program Construction and SMD057 Programing Projekt or similar. COURSE AIM The course should give knowledge about multimedia components, systems and applications with an emphasis on networked computers as conveyors of information. CONTENTS Overview of multimedia applications and systems. Time dependent media, coding and compression. Systems and software architectures. Multimodal editing and authoring. Multimodal communication systems. TEACHING Lectures, seminars, and laborations/project. EXAMINATION Written test, assignments (laborations/project) and seminars.
