TIMEPERIOD: Quarter II LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Lars-Åke Larzon Doktorand PREREQUISITES Following courses passed (or similar): SMD011/SMD12/SMD038 Imperative Programming (or SMD091), and SMD056 Program Construction (or SMD044 Imperative Programming and a Program Project/SMD064 Software Engineering). Participated in SMD006/SMD103 Reactive Programmning. COURSE AIM To give basic knowledge about computer networks and communication protocols, and especially to give an understanding for the protocols used in the Internet. CONTENTS Protocols, interfaces, layering. Internetworking. The OSI model. The Internet Model(TCP/IP, FTP, TELNET, etc). Local networks: Ethernet, token ring. Reliability by acknowledgments, sliding window protocols. Error detection and error recovery. Network support for real time video and audio communication. Routing.
