COURSE AIM
The course will give an introduction to numerical methods in physics. The students will learn how to solve mathematical problems encountered in physics using computers.



CONTENTS
Basics of scientific computing.

Numerical methods for solving mathematical problems that frequently arises in physics, such as ordinary and partial differential equations.

Numerical methods for analysis of data, such as data generated from space craft measurements.

An important part of the course is assignments, where the students will solve computational problems arising in physics using suitable programming languages such as Matlab.
