TIMEPERIOD: LANGUAGE: EXAMINER Jan-Olov Aidanpää Univ lekt PREREQUISITES The course is taken in combination with the other courses leading to a degree in Applied Mechanics at the Physics programme. Exceptions can be made after consultation with the examiner. COURSE AIM The purpose of the course is to create a coherent unity including the courses MTM081, MTM082, MTM070, MTM071 and MTM099 and make the students particularly suited for research and development work in applied mechanics. CONTENTS In a large project, covering the whole year, the techniques and methods learned in the courses above will be applied on a real problem. Project planning and leadership as well as systematised problem solution are included. TEACHING Each project group is self governed with a coach/mentor from the faculty. During the autumn some lectures are given in project planning and creative problem solving The lessons are generally as lectures. EXAMINATION The final grade is based on a combination of the oral project presentation and the written report. COURSE GRADE SCALE: 3, 4, 5 ITEMS/CREDITS | |
