TIMEPERIOD: Q I LANGUAGE:English/Swedish EXAMINER Björn Graneli Univ lekt PREREQUISITES Quantum Physics. COURSE AIM The purpose is to present the basic theory of atomic physics, with special attention to its foundations in quantum physics. In addition, an important aspect will be the experimental visulization of atomic physics, in particular through applied analytical methods. CONTENTS The structure of atoms and molecules, interaction with electric and magnetic fields, radiation and scattering processes. Spectroscopical methods used in research and industrial laboratories, such as IR-spectroscopy, Raman scattering and magnetic resonance techniques (ESR, NMR).
