TIMEPERIOD: Q 2,3,4 LANGUAGE:English/Swedish EXAMINER Ann-Mari Bergkvist Univ adj PREREQUISITES KSS639 or equivalent qualifications. COURSE AIM To provide the students with in-depth knowledge and proficiency in Swedish. To deepen and broaden the students' interest in and knowledge of Sweden, Swedish culture and Swedish society. CONTENTS - Pronunciation classes t achieve correct pronunciation, with special emphasis on intonation. - Listening comprehension exercises. - Oral presentations - Text reading; simple texts from newspapers, non-fiction and fiction. - Exercises in linguistic correctness with emphasis on grammatical constructions that can cause problems for second language learners. - Written presentations. TEACHING EXAMINATION Continuous assessment of oral skills. Individual assignments to be presented in class. Written homework. A final test where listening comprehension, reading comprehension and written work will be assessed. The course comprises 7.5 credits. For these to be registered the students are required to participate actively and to receive Pass for the final test.
