COURSE AIM
The aims of the course are that students:
- learn how to prepare a long-term plan of action against racism
- develop ability to guide children and young people towards a democratic and tolerant understanding of the immigrant-racist problem on basis of interdisciplinary research findings and public discussions on racism

CONTENTS
Interdisciplinary discussion and analysis of racism in our society both in the past and in the present. Emphasis is placed on how schoolchildren perceive the Holocaust and multiculture. The most important aspects of the course are a survey of current research in the field, the preparation of a long-term plan of action against racism on basis of field studies, and a concluding seminar focused on the future.

TEACHING
The teaching will consist of lectures, lessons, seminars and group work.

EXAMINATION
Written and oral examination, individually and in groups.
COURSE GRADE SCALE: Fail, Pass.
