TIMEPERIOD: Q1 LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Erik Berg Univ adj PREREQUISITES Applicant must have been admitted to a teacher training programme. COURSE AIM The aims of the course are that students: - gain familiarity with the computer tools in order to be able to use them in their studies - gain familiarity with the computer rooms that the teacher training programmes dispose of, with the rules for the use of these facilities, and with the rules and norms for use of computers at Luleå University of Technology - learn how to use world-wide-web browses (Netscape) to search for and find information on the Internet - acquire a basic knowledge of computers that enables them to independently develop skills in using Claris Works (word processing, graphic art, calculation) - learn how to send and receive e-mail - learn how to use KidPix for making multislide presentations CONTENTS Introduction to work with computers. Function, hardware and software, our computer rooms, rules and norms. Word processing, graphic art, calculation. Claris Works. Communication. Netscape. Eudora. Multimedia. KidPix. TEACHING Supervised exposition, self-instruction in the form of assignments based on prescribed texts and an exercise disc. EXAMINATION Grading of hand-in assignments. COURSE GRADE SCALE: Fail, Pass.
