PREREQUISITES
Applicants must have completed the courses PÄN400, PÄN403, PÄN404 and PÄN405 or equivalent basic course in biology.

COURSE AIM
The aims of the course are that students:
- acquire knowledge of systematic botany and taxonomy
- acquire knowledge of plant physiology and anatomy
- learn how to grow plants in a terrariums, green houses and gardens
- gain familiarity with laboratory work with plants as a teaching method


CONTENTS
Systematic botany, plant physiology, plant morphology, floristics, cultivated plants and plant geography.
Cultivation of plants in classrooms, green houses and gardens.


TEACHING
Lectures, lessons, group work, laboratory work and study visits.

EXAMINATION
Written and oral examination, individually and in group.
COURSE GRADE SCALE: Fail, Pass.
