PREREQUISITES
General eligibility with at least grade 3 from a 3 year upper secondary school course program or corresponding.

COURSE AIM
The aim of the course is to provide basic knowledge about the way national economy works, as well as the ability to apply economic theory on current problems. It will also give the ability to critically examine and analyze economic condions and development trends.

CONTENTS
The course starts by identifying the factors that determine supply and demand in induvidual markets, and how prices are set. further, individual markets for goods and services, as well as the market for factors of production are studied. Different market structures and the role of competition are also dealt with. Finally, the course introduces welfare theory and the concept of market failures.
