PREREQUISITES
General eligibility with at least grade 3 from a 3 year upper secondary school course program, or corresponding and Introductory Microeconomics or corresponding.

COURSE AIM
The course aim is to enhance the understanding of economic theory and develop the student's
ability to perform independent economic analysis.

CONTENTS
The focus in the course is on welfare effects from international trade and environmental problems from economic activity.

- Trade theories and trade policy will be introduced. The effects of trade will be analysed for the entire society and also for individual consumers and producers.
- Environmental theories will be introduced. The following questions will be treated from an economic perspective: Why do environmental problems arise? How can we weigh environmental goals against other economic goals? How can we solve environmental problems?
