PREREQUISITES
General eligibility with at least grade 3 from a 3 year upper secondary school course program, or corresponding and Introductory macroeconomics.

COURSE AIM
One primary aim of the course is to provide a deeper knowledge of the ways that the Swedish economy is functioning. The course focuses especially on the problems that face economic policy in an increasingly globalized world. The aim is also to provide the student with the ability to critically investigate and analyze economic problems and trends.

CONTENTS
The course starts with an overview of current account and the financial markets. Followed by a presentation of different theories and models that help us analyze economic policy from an international perspective. Different exchange-rate systems such as the EMU and different markets for capital are also presented during the course. Economic history is introduced in order to get a better understanding of today's economic policy.

Examination is done through written tests and written report.
