TIMEPERIOD: Period 1 LANGUAGE:English/Swedish EXAMINER Anders Grennberg Bitr professor PREREQUISITES SMS020 and SMS021, Signals and Systems I and II. COURSE AIM This course is indented to give the student basic knowledge about principals of, concepts for, and performance limitations in digital transmission. CONTENTS Fundamentals of analog transmission, quantization, pulse-code modulation, geometrical representations of waveforms, modulation techniques (QAM, PSK, QPSK, DPSK, FSK), the additive Gaussian noise channel, optimal detectors, performance analysis of digital receivers.
