TIMEPERIOD: Quarter I LANGUAGE:English/Swedish EXAMINER Ilja Cordi Prof PREREQUISITES SBT012 COURSE AIM To give ability to choose and use methods in traffic survey, traffic flow estimation, traffic prediction, traffic safety analysis and geometric design of transport facilities. CONTENTS Traffic generation, methods of prediction Traffic flow estimation, traffic distribution Capacity and accessibility. Control by traffic light signals. Traffic safety. Methods and equipment for traffic surveys. Traffic prediction and speed measuring. Traffic behaviour. Road-user interviews. Design assignment. TEACHING The instruction consists of seminars, exercises and design assignments. All of them are compulsory. Parts of suitable literature will be handed out for self-instruction. EXAMINATION The design assignments are juged as passed or failed. There will be a written test during the course.
