General eligibility for admission.

COURSE AIM
To give the students fundamental knowledge in ecology with particular emphasize on ecological systems. Structure and function of natural ecosytems and exercise in ecological thinking is fundamental.

CONTENTS
Ecology as a science. Fundamental knowledge in systematics, genetics and evolution. General ecology; methods; aut-, population-, community- and ecosystem ecology.

Field course. One week of field studies of the most common ecosystems in the northern parts of Sweden.
