PREREQUISITES
KMK042 or a corresponding course in general chemistry. KMK014 or KMK008 is recommended.


COURSE AIM
The course will give the students a fundamental knowledge of coordination chemistry, inorganic reaction theory and descriptive chemistry. Furthermore, the course will provide training in planning, performing and presenting a project.

CONTENTS
Descriptive inorganic chemistry with reference to the periodic table
Coordination chemistry including ligand field theory and MO-theory.
Inorganic reaction theory
The laboratory exercises covers inorganic reaction theory and qualitative inorganic analysis



TEACHING
The teaching consists of projects, lessons and laboratory exercises. The first lesson is compulsory as well as the laboratory exercises and project presentations.


EXAMINATION
Approved laboratory reports and an approved written examination with differentiated grades.
