PREREQUISITES
10 points in mathematics and KMK013 or a corresponding course.

COURSE AIM
The goal of the course is that the student, after completion of the course, should
- be able to use state functions in chemical calculations
- be well aquainted with the concepts: activity and partial molar quatities.
- be able to construct and interpret phase diagrams
- be able to apply thermodynamics to electrochemical -and destilation equilibria

CONTENTS
The course covers chemical thermodynamics including electochemical equilibria. The following concepts are included: ideal- and non-ideal gases, thermodynamical state functions, activity, partial molar quantities, colligative properties, phase diagrams, and electrochemical equilibria.
The theory is applies during calculation- and laboratory exercises.

TEACHING
The course is presented in the form of lectures and laboratory excercises. The laboratory excercises are compulsory.
