MPR037 Advanced Computer - Aided Manufacturing 6.0 ECTS credits | |
TIMEPERIOD: Q III LANGUAGE:English/Swedish EXAMINER Mikael Bäckström Univ lekt PREREQUISITES Metal cutting, Manufacturing engineering, CAD/CAM. COURSE AIM The course aims to give an in depth knowledge of the interplay between NC machines, metal cutting and CAM systems. Of particular interest are advanced applications such as 5 axis and high speed machining. The student will aquire the knowledge necessary to choose technical solutions and projekt manage implementation of advanced computer aided manufacturing systems including 5axis and high speed machine tools and CAM software. CONTENTS Anatomy of an NC machine, machine performance, axis controll and spindles, control systems effects on performance, communication, and machine tool monitoring, tooling and tool systems, CAM for 3 and 5 axis machines, machining strategies, post processing, data formats, future trends.
