PREREQUISITES
Basic knowledge of plasticity and metal forming processing.

COURSE AIM
The course will give the student a deep knowledge in metal forming as well as ongoing research within the field of metal forming e.g. sheet metalforming.

CONTENTS
The course is adapted to take account of technical developments and students' interests. The course is divided into two parts. The first part will give the students information on ongoing research within the field metal forming. The second part is devoted to a more depth study of a particular forming process within an area of ongoing research.

TEACHING
The first part of the course consists of a number of formal lectures along with group discussion of articles and other material relevant to the course and some laboratory work. Each student will write summaries of the articles before each lecture. One of the students will be the leader of the discussion.
Each student have to make some preparation and calculation before the laboratory work and make a written report of the work. Part two of the course is done in the form of individual project work. The project work include literature search as well as written and oral presentation of the results. All students will write a summary of all written reports and prepare at least two questions of each report at the oral presentation.

EXAMINATION
To receive a passing grade for this course, students must activaly participate in the lectures, group discussions, laboratory work and make the individual project work. The summaries and the project work will form the basis for the evaluation of the graded mark.
