COURSE AIM
To give fundamental knowledge of the global use of energy. Special attention will be paid to the renewable energy resources and the emissions from combustion of different fuels.

CONTENTS
Heat transfer (5%) Conduction, convection and radiation.
Heat pumps and turbines (10%)
Renewable energy resources (30%) Wind, solar, tide, wave, OTEC and geothermal energy.
Energy statistics (10%)
Combustion of fossil fuels and biomass (10%)
Emissions from combustion and technique to reduce environmental damage (10%)
District heating and co-generation plants (10%)
Nuclear energy (10%)
Hydrogen, a clean fuel? (5%)
