COURSE AIM To give good understanding of electromagnetic wave propagation and theoretical and practical knowledge of antennas. CONTENTS Electromagnetic fields: Maxwells equations, potentials. Methods in electrostatics. Plane waves. Waveguides with conducting boundaries. Antenna theory: The radiation field from a source. Multipole expansion ot the radiation field, dipole and quadrupole antennas. Antenna construction: Construction and measurement of handmade antennas. TEACHING Lessons and laboratory work.
