TIMEPERIOD: Q IV LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Sverker Fredriksson Prof PREREQUISITES Modern Physics, MTF009. COURSE AIM The course gives an orientation in space physics and astrophysics, as a preparation for the advanced courses later in the programme. It also gives an insight into current frontline research, in particular Swedish space research about the magnetosphere and the aurora. Visits to other institutes will give an overview of the total space activities in Kiruna.

COURSE LITERATURE Lundin Rickard: Föreläsningsanteckningar i rymdfysik (IRF-tryckeri) Lagerkvist, Lodén: Planeter, Stjärnor, Galaxer - grundläggande astronomi. Liber utbildning. The books are sold at IRF in Kiruna. REMARKS The course is given at the Institute of Space Physics in Kiruna during a three-week period. Course leader is Dr. Asta Pellinen-Wannberg at IRF. She is also contact person for further information. The course is open only for Space Engineering student, and those students from Öppen ingång that formally choose the Space Engineering programme in connection to choosing the course. The course includes approximately one week of project work in Luleå before the formal start of the teaching in Kiruna. Further information: International Office |
