COURSE AIM
The course will give the student a knowledge about physical optics and its applications in engineering.

CONTENTS
Interference of light. Fraunhofer and Fresnel diffraction. Polarisation. Birefringence. Interferometry, holography and other applications. Measurement by optical techniques.



TEACHING
Lectures, demonstrations and laboratory work.

EXAMINATION
Written examination which comprises both conceptual questions as well as ordinary problems, at the end of the course. Passed laboratory course is mandatory.
