FÖRKUNSKAPSKRAV
General eligibility for admission to university courses and a good knowledge in English.

MÅL
The course will provide the students the basic knowledge of body sizes, their variability, measurement methods and ergonomic application of anthropometric data. The basic theory of occupational biomechanics will likewise be given together with available biomechanical methodologies which the students can use in real industrial settings.

INNEHÅLL
Anthropometry - Races of man and historical background; Body sizes; Body size variability; Static and dynamic anthropometry; Anthropometric surveys; Application of anthropometry in design; Seating; Methods of measurement and instrumentation.

Occupational Biomechanics - Basics in biomechanics; Importance of occupational biomechanics in ergonomics; Body force and strength; Work Posture; Lifting and carrying; Biomechanical modelling; EMG technique; Methods in occupational biomechanics.

UNDERVISNING
The course will have both theoretical work consisting of lectures and practical work consisting of compulsory laboratory experiments.
