COURSE AIM
After approved examination the students should be able, at a qualified level, to select and design modern open pit and underground mining methods, be able to develop and plan mine production, be able to select latest mining equipment and understand how mining methods influence product quality. Emphasis on automated mining equipment and systems.

CONTENTS
Open pit mine design and mine planning. Underground mining methods with open stoping, cut-and fill, and caving methods, selction of method, development work, orelosses and waste dilusion, equipment, operators, mine planning.

Properties of fill material and flow of fragmented rock. Automation of equipment and systems. Competerised engineering tools. Influence of mining on the environment methods to reduce environmental import.

Projekt assigmnet.
Field visit.




TEACHING
The teaching will include classroom lectures, home work/project work.

EXAMINATION
A written exam with differentiated grades. Written assignments and project assignment require the grade Passed.
