TIMEPERIOD: QIV LANGUAGE:English/Swedish EXAMINER Ove Lagerqvist Univ lekt PREREQUISITES ABB001, ABB006, ABB007, ABS006 and ABS008. COURSE AIM The scope of the course is to give knowledge concerning design of advanced steel structures with emphasis on steel structures frequently used in industrial buildings. CONTENTS Design of welded girders and columns: Effective cross sections, local buckling, column buckling, laterial-torsional buckling (40%). Fatigue: Stress range, Palmgren-Miners rule, fatigue strength of details, welded connections, bolted connections (20%). Design of shell structures: Different types of shell structures, stability problems (20%). Optimization of steel structures (10%). Design of advanced steel structures (10%).
