TIMEPERIOD: Q 3.4 LANGUAGE:English/Swedish EXAMINER Ulla Bergenudd Univ adj PREREQUISITES KSS639, KSS640 or equivalent qualifications. COURSE AIM To provide the students with in-depth knowledge and proficiency in Swedish. To deepen and broaden the students' knowledge of Swedish literature, Swedish culture and Swedish society and in particular the conditions in Norrbotten. CONTENTS - Pronunciation classes to achieve correct pronunciation, with special emphasis on intonation. - Oral presentations; reports, summaries and discussions - Text reading; newspapers, non-fiction and fiction. - Grammar exercises. - Swedish morphology and syntax - Swedish word-formation and semantics. - Written presentations. TEACHING EXAMINATION Continuous assessment of oral skills. Individual assignments to be presented in class. Literature assignments. Written homework. A final test where listening comprehension, reading comprehension and written production will be assessed. The course comprises 7.5 credits. For these to be registered the students are required to participate actively and to receive Pass for the final test.
