TIMEPERIOD: Q 3 LANGUAGE: EXAMINER Eric Johannesson Univ lekt PREREQUISITES Eligibility for course admission to begin the study programme in Compulsory School Education for Forms 4-9. COURSE AIM The aim of the course is to provide knowledge about the classical myths and literature in a historical perspective up to year 1600. The course should also develop the abilities of the students to communicate the essential themes from mythology and older literature to pupils in compulsory school. The course deals with fiction that illustrates the living conditions of children, women and men in different times and different countries. CONTENTS Introduction to literary studies, 3 credits The history of literature (Ancient and Medieval history and the Renaissance), 10.5 credits Literary studies 1.5 credits TEACHING Classes, lectures, seminars, group discussions and group work. EXAMINATION The students will be graded on assignment reports. Written examination in literature. COURSE GRADE SCALE: Fail, Pass, Pass with Di ITEMS/CREDITS
