TIMEPERIOD: T 5 LANGUAGE:English/Swedish EXAMINER I Karlefors Univ adj PREREQUISITES To have passed the courses KSP001 and KSP002 specializing in sport COURSE AIM The aim of the course is to provide the students with experience and knowledge about: - different elements in physical education according to Lpo-94 as well as personal and methodology skills in the elements - outdoor activities when the ground is free from snow - a method of working that allows them to reflect over and consider their attitudes towards physical education in school - how physical education can work to strengthen the individual and groups - how physical education can work together with other subjects in school - different ways of pursuing health education. CONTENTS During the course the students will learn games, dances, different sport activities and outdoor activities which will be used in compulsory school. A part of the teaching will be pursued outdoors when the ground is free from snow. Great importance is attached to a way of teaching that is both full of variety and the joys of movement. The students should learn how to consciously make choices of materials and ways of working taking in to account Lpo 1994, students age, sex and individual abilities. The course illustrates the difference between physical education and health in school and sport movements in society. TEACHING The teaching is mainly practical and concrete with elements of reflections, discussions and theory expositions. Parts of the course will be in form of seminars. Attendance for the course is compulsory. EXAMINATION The students will be graded on conducted assignments, in writing as well as in practice, individually and in groups.
