COURSE AIM
The aims of the course are that students: - acquire knowledge of the signs of bullying, and the causes and explanations for the occurrence of bullying in groups of children and pupils. - gain knowledge and understanding of bullying and gain familiarity with various plans of action against bullying.

CONTENTS
Students are to gain familiarity with the view on bullying in the curriculum, investigate the preparedness and plans of action for the prevention and handling of bullying in different schools, and elucidate the attitudes of pupils towards bullying. Topics - Curricula and syllabuses for the compulsory educational system - Definitions of bullying - Research on bullying - Theories about bullying - Case reports on bullying - Plans of action against bullying - IT programs about bullying - Attitudes and change of attitude - Research methodology and report writing

TEACHING
The teaching is divided into three parts: 1. Teacher-supervised introduction and thereafter self-tuition followed by seminars and an individual, written examination. 2. Teacher-supervised introduction of project work and report writing. Field studies in groups and compilation of report according to the so called "Luleå model." 3. Seminars in "crossed" groups for presentation and discussion of the reports.

EXAMINATION
Written and oral examination, individually and in group.
COURSE GRADE SCALE: Fail, Pass.
