COURSE AIM
The aim of the course is - to give a frame of reference for logistics - to give knowledge of the functions of the logistics systems - to give knowledge of the relations of the logistics systems to its environment - to give knowledge of the management and the operations of the logistics systems - to give knowledge of some existing logistics systems.

CONTENTS
Definition of logistics and the concept of logistics. The functions of the logistics systems. Examples of logistics functions are transportation, inventory, warehousing, materials handling, order processing, information handling, and procurement. The logistics system's relations to its environment, to other functions in the company, to other companies, andto the society as a whole. Studies of existing national and international logistics system.
