PREREQUISITES
Basic course.

COURSE AIM
- To broaden and deepen the students knowledge of political theory as well as other areas in the discipline of political science.
- To give an understanding of methods and technics used in social science.
- To train ones ability to treat questions within social science by writing and defending a scientific thesis.



CONTENTS
Course A: Political Theory.
- How the political variety was observed by prominant figures within the discipline.
- Classics like Marx, Weber and Durkheim are given an important scope in this course but even modern political theory is brought up.

Course B: Own Choice 1-4

Course C: Method
- To give the student the necessary analytical tools that are needed to carry out political analysis.
- To study different scientific rules.
- The formation of concepts and model construction to illustrate other methodical considerations, that must also be considered by the trained political scientist.
- The study of quantitive and qualititive methods.

Course D: Independent Thesis.
- The idea behind an independent thesis is that the student formulates a number of questions which will be systematicly answered in the thesis.
- The students thesis will be opposed by another student and vice versa.

Written exams, seminars and group assignments.
Grading system: Fail, Pass or Honours.
