PREREQUISITES


COURSE AIM
The goal of the course is to give an introduction to some important fields within information technology (IT). In a 1994 study by the IT-commission of the Swedish government, it is stated that "Through the present breakthrough of IT, the conditions for people and societies to operate change in a fundamental way." In the course you can e.g. get acquainted with the exploding market for World Wide Web (WWW) multimedia products. IT is, however, a much wider concept. Within the IT-concept belongs production, transfer and use of information in its various forms.

CONTENTS
Themes: 1. "Learn to learn". How can information technology be utilized so as to make studies more interesting and efficient? 2. ITs roll in the society. 3. Project: We shall use problem-based learning. Results of your work will become globally available via WWW.
