TIMEPERIOD: IV LANGUAGE:English/Swedish EXAMINER David Carr Univ lekt PREREQUISITES Passed SMD011/SMD012/SMD038 Imperative Programming and MAM053/MAM65 Discrete Mathematical Structures or similar. COURSE AIM The focus of the course is on to give the student a detailed overview of problems, methods and solutions within the area of computer security. The student will have good knowledge in cryptography and authentication when the course is completed. CONTENTS Basic and advanced cryptography, applications and algorithms (with public and secret key); authentication; hash-functions; secure e-mail; secure transactions; digital money; basic introduction to firewalls. TEACHING The teaching consists of lectures, compulsory home-assignments and student-seminars. EXAMINATION Written exam with differentiated grades. Compulsory assignments.
