PREREQUISITES


COURSE AIM
The goal of this course is to
- equip the students with fundamental knowledge in writing well-structured programs in a modern programming language.
- introduce data abstraction.
- introduce modern operating system tools and the use of peripherals.
- give a general introduction to computers.

CONTENTS
Elements of programming. Declarations and expressions. Functions and procedures. Introduction to data abstraction. Introduction to computer architecture, word processing, programming languages, use of peripherals, the UNIX operating system, and file system.
