COURSE AIM
To give the student knowledge and understanding of how buildings can be constructed in a sustainable society.
CONTENTS
Survey of different types of waste from building sites. General possibilities of recycling the waste. Organisation of collection, transport and treatment of waste. Hazardous waste.
Sustainable building technics: Planned demolition. Re-use of building material.
Selection of materials for new production.
Sick buildings: Moisture and microbial problems. Emissions from building materials. Ventilation.
Economics. Legislation. LCA.
System considerations. Sustainable buildings technics in other countries.
