COURSE AIM
The course will give an insight into remote sensing methods that are used within natural resource and environmental applications.
CONTENTS
Basics:
Electromagnetic spectra, spectral signature of different common materials, satellites, sensors.
Preprocessing and distribution:
System corrections, contrast stretching, archiving, distribution, image products.
Geometric referencing and image enhancement:
Geometric errors, methods for geometric referencing, filtering, colour composites, ratios, different indexes.
Classification:
Unsupervised and supervised classification, principal components, applications.
Scanning:
Scanning of maps.
TEACHING
Lecture, practicals and visits to companies using remote sensing data. Company visits are mandatory.
EXAMINATION
Written examination and approved practicals.
