COURSE AIM
The course will show how a community is planned to suit the citizens and how we shall administer the existing establishments for municipal management.
CONTENTS
Administrative knowledge: Organization. Local authority budget. Administration of larger projects. Traffic legislation.
Methods for management and maintenance: Streets, roads, pedestrian and bicycle paths. Summer and winter maintenance. Street-lightning. Traffic lights. Constructional works. Green belts. Water supply and sewer system. Public cleansing. Vulnerability and analysis of risks. Computer aid.
Project work
TEACHING
The instruction consists of lectures, educational visits and project work.
EXAMINATION
The marking is either pass (G) or fail (U). To pass the course, the student has to attend to 80 % of the lectures and educational visits, to pass the written test and to pass oral and written accountings of project work.
