KMK035 Physical Chemistry II (Spectroscopy) 6.0 ECTS credits | |
TIMEPERIOD: Q II LANGUAGE:English/Swedish EXAMINER Allan Holmgren Univ lekt PREREQUISITES 10 points in mathematics as well as one of the following courses: KMK002, KMK004, KMK013, KMK042 or a corresponding course. COURSE AIM The goal of the course is that the student, after completion of the course, should - be well aquainted with quantum theory and its connection to spectroscopy - have knowledge concerning the molecular information that can be obtained from various spectroscopic techniques - be able to perform simpler calculations using spectroscopic data CONTENTS The course covers basic quantum theory, IR-spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, UV/visible spectroscopy and NMR spectroscopy. The theory is applied during the laboratory and calculation exercises. TEACHING The course is presented in the form of lectures and laboratory exercises. The laboratory exercises are compulsory.
