TIMEPERIOD: QIII LANGUAGE:English/Swedish EXAMINER Mats Lindberg Univ lekt PREREQUISITES Course in general chemistry COURSE AIM The course should give a fundamental knowledge in organic chemistry in order to facilitate further studies in, e.g, cellulose chemistry, environmental technology and chemical safety. CONTENTS Chemical Bonding Functional Groups Physical and Chemical Properties of Different Classes of Compounds Isomerism Organic Chemical Reactions Reaction Mechanisms Synthesis Chromatographic Separation Methods TEACHING The course is presented in the form of lectures and laboratory exercises.
