TIMEPERIOD: Q I-II LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER A Kinnander Prof PREREQUISITES MPR029 Automation, MPR028 Management of Manufacturing systems or equivalent. COURSE AIM The course shall give a wide understanding of complex modern manufacturing systems. The course shall give knowledge of methods and tools for analysis, designing and controlling such systems, such as CAD/CAM, simulation and MRP. The project part of the course shall develop the students ability to independently, and in group, work with manufacturing problems. CONTENTS Modern manufacturing philosophies. The virtual factory, modelling and simulation. Computer Aided Manufacturing, CAM. Control of manufacturing cells. Computer integrated manufacturing, CIM. Investment handling. Project work on developing a cell for automatic manufacturing. TEACHING Lectures on manufacturing philosophies, some by invited speakers, simulation, CAM and CIM, laboratory lessons on robotics and CAM.
